Rhulani reveals Downs' recent activities

Premiership

Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rhulani Mokwena has revealed what the club got up to during the past weekend's MTN8 action after they were eliminated early.

Sundowns have been on the periphery since last week when they were held to a goalless draw at home to PSL rookies Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila in the DStv Premiership, while the likes of Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates were engrossed in cup action.

However, they return to action on Wednesday evening with a tough assignment away at Cape Town City, where they have not won a league encounter since February 2018.

Mokwena has now revealed what himself, Manqoba Mnqithi and Steve Komphela have been up to at Chloorkop during their week-long 'break'.

"The good thing is we've had time on the [training] pitch, time to work on a couple of schemes and routines," said Mokwena in an update issued to the club's media team.

"It's given us a little bit of time to induct and try to introduce some of the new players into our way of working, and facilitate synergy amongst our players.

"So the preparations have been going well, the training has been very, very good and we're looking forward to the next encounter against Cape Town City."
