Rhulani: I'm an artist not a psychic

Orlando Pirates coach Rhulani Mokwena refused to be drawn into giving a score prediction for Saturday’s Soweto Derby as he explained his stance on betting.

Pirates face rivals Kaizer Chiefs in an Absa Premiership clash on Saturday afternoon, a week after being knocked out of the Telkom Knockout quarterfinals by the same side.

This gives The Buccaneers an opportunity to not only avenge that penalty shootout defeat but also maintain their long-standing unbeaten run against Amakhosi, who they last lost a league game against in December 2014.

In the build-up to Saturday’s encounter, the two coaches were on Thursday asked for their score predictions and offered contrasting responses.

“I wish I had a direct line to God because then I’d dial his number immediately and then answer your question,” responded Mokwena.

“Unfortunately, I’m no psychic. I’ve already told you what I’m good at – I’m a very good artist but, in terms of psychic powers, God has never blessed me with those.

“So, I don’t even play the lotto, nor do I do score predictions – betting is not my space, so let me not even attempt to give an answer to that.”

Middendorp, meanwhile, simply responded: “No comment.”
