Rhulani: I'm a big fan of Pep Guardiola

Orlando Pirates coach Rhulani Mokwena has opened up about his great admiration for former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho and Manchester City tactician Pep Guardiola.

Mokwena won his second game in charge of Pirates when the Mighty Buccaneers defeated Stellenbosch 1-0 in the Telkom Knockout round of 16 at the Orlando stadium last weekend.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach also remains a big fan of Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp after he visited Anfield last season.

"I used to follow all the teams that Mourinho coaches. I have had two stints with Liverpool and at the moment I have emotional connotation towards Klopp because of the hospitality they showed me when I was there. I also have a friend who works there, ” Mokwena tells KickOff.com.

"I have soft spot for Liverpool but at the same time I am big fan of Pep, the way he does by his things and admire how Manchester City play. For different reasons I follow Manchester City because of Pep 's technical outlook towards football."

Pirates are set to return to league action when they visit Stellenbosch in Cape Town on Saturday, having endured an indifferent start to the season, and Mokwena could be learning a thing or two from Klopp, whose team is sitting on top of the English Premier League.

"I like Klopp with regards to pressing and counter pressing, and also his mentality and the good person he is," he added.

"When you meet him in person, he is not far from the person you meet behind the camera. Very genuine and that's what I admire about him as a leader."
