REPORT: Cech joins Arsenal

The Czech gloveman has spent the better part of the last decade as the Blues’ number one, winning four League titles, four FA Cups as well as the Uefa Champions League, yet played second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois this season, making just six League starts all campaign.

Rumours have been mounting in recent months of a possible move away from Stamford Bridge, with a PSG inquiring about the keeper’s service, yet the 33-year-old insisted on a stay in London where his family is based.

And although neither club has confirmed the deal, English publication Sportsmail has reported that an £11million deal has been agreed by both London rivals, paving the way for Cech to become Arsene Wenger’s first signing of the new season.

Cech’s arrival means either Wojciech Szczesny or David Ospina could leave the Emirates, with the latter’s agent reportedly in talks with Turkish giants Fenerbache.
