'Chiefs will come out guns blazing'

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Rene Richards has sent a strong warning to Bidvest Wits ahead of their clash at Orlando Stadium this evening.

Gavin Hunt's boys have the power to stop Amakhosi from extending their lead at the top of the Absa Premiership after Mamelodi Sundowns dropped points against Orlando Pirates on Tuesday.

But Richards believes his former club will be going there smelling blood to avoid any slip-up in their ambition to win their first league title in five years.

"I think Chiefs are going to come guns blazing against Wits, that's a definite," Richards tells KickOff.com.

"They now have an opportunity to extend their lead again, so it's a must-win for them and they will definitely be going there for three points."

With George Maluleka gone to Mamelodi Sundowns, Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has been mulling over his options to replace the central midfielder.

Richards backs the forgotten Siphelele Ntshangase to shine now that 'Mido' is out of the equation.

"Ntshangase is definitely the man who should take over, without a doubt," he insists.

Middendorp's side will be looking to bounce back strongly after dropping points against Maritzburg United and AmaZulu before lockdown.
