It was Baroka's first win of the season, after they drew their first two matches oagainst Limpopo rivals Polokwane and Soweto giants Orlando Pirates. The win will no doubt give Bakgaga a confidence boost, as they are hoping to avoid a relegation battle this season.
Baroka took the lead just before half-time when Chippa's Nigerian defender James Okwuosa scored an own goal at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
Chippa, however, drew level just before the hour mark when veteran striker Katlego Mashego found the back of the net from the penalty spot.
But Baroka midfielder Gift Motupa, who is on loan from Pirates, bagged a brace, scoring in the 63rd and 83rd minute to seal an impressive victory for Kgoloko Thobejane's men.
