Ertugral: I knew it was coming

The Urban Warriors claimed their first win of the season courtesy of an early goal from Mozambican import Stelio Ernesto at Cape Town Stadium.

"For me I knew that it was going to come and for this team, the new owners and the club, there were expectations with a lot of youngsters," Ertugral said.

"With all that we have gone through it was tremendously important to win this game."

Ajax were hampered by their fair share of injuries at the start of the campaign, while they also lost star players Khama Billiat and Mabhuti Khenyeza to Mamelodi Sundowns and Mpumalanga Black Aces respectively.

Meanwhile, Ea Lla Koto mentor Steve Komphela admitted his side deserved to go down in the Mother City.

"We didn’t have the energy, we lost too many passes and we couldn’t challenge for the ball in the air," Komphela said.

"To be fair and square, if we got points here, one would’ve been happy.

"That we didn’t get a point, one can’t complain. I just have to congratulate my friend and mentor.

"We didn’t deserve to get anything," Komphela concluded.
