Sundowns extended their lead at the top of the table to five points with a 1-0 win over Maritzburg United at Loftus Versfeld last night.

Mosimane's men have accumulated 25 points from 12 games and boast two matches in hand on closest rivals Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.

Over in England, City look unstoppable as they have won a record 15 games in a row to move 11 points clear of neighbours Manchester United at the summit.

"It's encouraging," said Mosimane after a third straight victory for the Tshwane giants.

"It's both ways, it looks good. Everybody is going to go for you but at the same time it gives confidence to say let's wrap it [up] and copy top teams like Manchester City - they go for it every week irrespective.

"So it is encouraging but games in hand don’t mean anything, I like the points we have."

Maritzburg coach Fadlu Davids has already backed the Brazilians to romp to league honours.

'Jingles', however is mindful the season is yet to reach the half-way mark.

"Fadlu is being too nice to us. We have to be careful. It means he is a good guy, he speaks from the heart, I know that," said the decorated tactician.

"It's a compliment. We have to manage it and don’t be all over the place. When you have a 14/15-point lead then you can start to say it will be silly for us to lose the title. It's too early, we haven’t even done half way."
