Pitso critical of refereeing decisions

The Brazilians looked to be on their way to the top of the Absa Premiership table as they led 2-1 heading into second-half injury time, only for Bakgaga to win and convert a 93rd-minute penalty to rescue a draw.

However, questions were raised about whether Thapelo Morena was inside the box when he handled the ball, while six minutes of added time also left many scratching their heads, including coach Mosimane.

“I don’t know if it was a penalty, I can’t see from where I am [during the game]. I don’t know if it was inside the box or outside the box - it’s very difficult for us to see. For me, it looks outside the box, but it’s ok, it’s football.

“And I’m not sure [the] added six minutes [of second-half injury time], but it’s ok.

“I’m not saying we [drew] because of the six minutes, it’s part of football, it’s part of the game and you have to continue. It’s very sad, but I hope the referee made a mistake [and wasn’t biased], otherwise it’s very sad.”

Mosimane was, however, full of praise for Baroka, saying: “We were playing against a team who haven’t played in 12 games; they were quicker than us, they were sharper than us.

“They were much stronger physically, but it’s part of football. If it [the win tonight] is not meant for us, it’s not meant for us.”
