Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has issued an update on the status of his proposed contract renewal with the club.

Mosimane earlier explained the delay in his signing of a new deal that will keep him at Sundowns beyond his current contract that ends in June this year.

The former CAF Coach of the Year revealed that undisclosed priniciples were being ironed out with club management while assuring that money was not an issue.

'Jingles' has since confirmed progress in the discussions ahead of Sunday afternoon's Tshwane derby encounter against SuperSport United at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

"Very important to stay where you are loved. 80 percent of the contract concluded. We should be signing soon," said the 55-year-old tactician on his official Twitter page.

This has drawn plenty of praise from many of The Brazilians' supporters, who have taken to the coach's post to express their delight.

"We need you coach more than before as we want to take this league when others thought they have taken it," one user said in response.

Some also took the opportunity to throw a jab by expressing their discontent at the manner in which Mosimane directed criticism towards Orlando Pirates midfielder Fortune Makaringe's trickery during Wednesday clash at Orlando Stadium.

"Hopefully there is a clause on that contract that says you are not allowed to try and tell other team players and coaches what to do but to concentrate on your team," read another response.
