Pitso fine with single Downs call-up

Mosimane maintains that the club will always remain supportive of the national team just like they have done before, even for non-FIFA calendar matches.

Zwane is the only Sundowns player named in the Bafana squad for the two remaining 2015 African Nations Cup, Group A qualifiers against Sudan and Nigeria.

“Mamelodi Sundowns always supports the national team,” Mosimane tells KickOff.com.

“I don’t know if you are aware of how many players we always give to the national team anytime they want, even when the matches are not FIFA calendar dates.

“COSAFA, we give more players, CHAN, we give more players. At Mamelodi Sundowns we always support the national team. We are not in charge of any selection of the national team.

“The team is doing very well … we respect the fact that Bafana Bafana is doing very well and we will always support,” says the former Bafana Bafana coach.

‘Mshishi’ was also the only Sundowns player named for back-to-back matches against Congo last month and is the only Sundowns survivor from Shakes Mashaba’s first squad named in August.

Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Bonginkosi Ntuli were called up for Mashaba’s first squad but both didn’t play against Sudan and Nigeria and were then dropped for the next round of games.

Zwane has started five games in all competitions, scoring two and assisting two.
