Sundowns have had a tough time of late, having exited the CAF Champions League and MTN8, while they are ninth on the Absa Premiership table with six points from four games.

However, Mosimane insists the Brazilians, who drew 3-3 with AmaZulu in Durban on Sunday, are just "three points behind their programme".

"You know Sundowns, we always start like this, isn't it?

"We always start like this and I think you know the end. What is the end? We are okay. We are just a ... three points behind, three points behind into our programme.

"Probably in the next phase. Remember we group them, we group them to five games, five games, five games. So in this group at the moment we are three points behind.

"Maybe we can get the three points on the second block, third block, fourth block or fifth block. You never know."

Mosimane is also not worrying too much about their 'Big Three' rivals Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, who beat SuperSport United and Cape Town City respectively on the weekend.

"You never look at what other people are doing, hey. Because if you start comparing, it's not fair, neh? To say what others have done.

"I can also tell you what Sundowns has done for the last five years if you want to compare with other people, and I think you know the comparison, neh.

"So don't go there."

Meanwhile, 'Jingles' defended new goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse after he let in three goals on his debut at King Zwelithini Stadium. The former SuperSport United keeper was handed a start as Denis Onyango was attending to personal matters.

"I've seen [Kaizer Chiefs' Itumeleng] Khune make big mistakes in matches. I've seen Denis Onyango make big mistakes in a match.

"I've seen [Arsenal's] Petr Cech make the biggest mistakes. So I've seen all the goalkeepers make mistakes. Unfortunately when you are a goalkeeper, you make a mistake you are the last man, neh? It goes into the net.

"So everybody make mistakes. I think you have (pointing to the media) made mistakes also. It is just that yours is not televised, publicised. Yours die slowly in the corner there."

Masandawana are back in action tonight against Golden Arrows at Princess Magogo Stadium (19h30).
