Zulu is currently out of favour at The Team of Choice as he’s refusing to sign the contract the club have on the table with Maritzburg chairman Farouk Kadodia telling this website that the player will only set foot on the field again when his future is determined.
The 24-year-old has missed the last three matches in all competitions and will not feature in tomorrow’s league match against Golden Arrows at Harry Gwala stadium.
This is not the first instance where a player has been forced to sign a new contract with club; at the start of last season Nhlanhla Vilakazi, now with Free State Stars, was side-lined bu the KwaZulu-Natal outfit after he refused to sign a new contract.
"The reason why Zulu is not keen to sign is because there are clubs from Joburg who want him since his contract is up at the end of the season," an informant tells KickOff.com.
"Kaizer Chiefs, [Orlando] Pirates and Bidvest Wits have all been mentioned to the player and Platinum Stars are another club as well."
Efforts to get hold of Zulu’s representative from Prosport International proved futile.
Zulu was heavily relied upon last season as he featured in all of Maritzburg's league matches and was named as their most valuable player at the club’s awards.
