Palmer joining Chippa United

Harrison resigned over the weekend as Chippa coach to take over at Lamontville Golden Arrows and the Cape side, though shocked by Harrison’s departure, are moving on to find a new coach.

Chippa’s CEO Peter Koutroulis says nothing is confirmed yet, but Palmer’s name did come up during discussions about a replacement.

"There are a lot of names that came up, including Ian Palmer," Koutroulis says.

"I’m meeting the chairman [Chippa Mpengesi] this afternoon and we will take it from there," he adds.

According to KickOff.com sources, Palmer is definitely the frontrunner.

"Polokwane City wanted Palmer, but Chippa United moved faster and it is only a matter of time before Palmer is confirmed as Chippa’s new coach," the source reveals.
