Manyisa raring to play in PSL again

A rusty Oupa Manyisa is itching to make his debut for Chippa United today after being named on the bench for their match against Maritzburg United.

The Chilli Boys take on Maritzburg United at Harry Gwala Stadium at 17h00 and the 31-year-old has been named on the bench.

Manyisa joined United on a short-term contract until the end of the season this week after being in the wilderness since late last year.

'Ace' as Manyisa is affectionately known is set to add much-needed experience to the side as they look forward to moving away from the relegation zone.

The former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder has declared his intention of repay club chairman Siviwe Mpengesi for showing faith in him after his failed move to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila at the start of the season.

"I want to thank the Chippa United family and most importantly the chairman for giving me an opportunity to come and play here and represent Chippa United," said Manyisa upon his arrival in Port Elizabeth.

"All I am going to say is that I will do my best to help the guys achieve the goal that the chairman wants to achieve.

"I am pretty excited because it's been a long time for me not playing football but I am gelling well because I know most of the guys here. I played against them and some I played with them.

"I am happy because they welcomed me with warm hearts and hands and I am pretty much happy."
