Pirates to host private memorial

Premiership

The team this morning travelled to Durban to visit the Meyiwa family home in Umlazi and hold the ceremony ahead of the funeral at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza arranged today's event so that the players, who have been undergoing group therapy, can personally pay their respects to their fallen friend.

Vladimir Vermezovic's men are yet to properly train since Meyiwa was gunned down in Vosloorus on the East Rand of Johannesburg this past Sunday night.

This website has also discovered that Bucs' scheduled Absa Premiership match with Platinum Stars in Rustenburg on Tuesday may be postponed due to its close proximity to the funeral.

The PSL, however, have yet to confirm this, having already called off this weekend's round of fixtures.
