The Zambian international came off the bench to score the winner as Pirates registered a 2-1 victory over the 10 men of Phunya Sele Sele, making sure that the second-placed Buccaneers stay within touching distance of leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
It was a brilliant way for Mulenga to open his account for the Soweto giants, as his shot rattled the roof of the net after he combined well with Thembinkosi Lorch.
More will be expected from the striker after that stunning strike. His compatriot Justin Shonga has already endeared himself to the Bucs faithful and he will be looking to do the same as things progress.
"When the coach introduced me I knew what I can do and the goal that I scored is not the first time I did it," Mulenga said afterwards.
"I'm used to scoring them. I took the responsibility to shoot and it is something that I do always in training."
Mulenga hopes for more goals before the end of the season in order to help the club reach their target.
"I'm a new player here and I need to do my best in the remaining matches so that next season I can start with full confidence.
"I know that there are a few games remainng in the season and I just have to do the best as a player to improve each game the coach gives me."
Mulenga also received some praise from coach Micho Sredojevic, who believes he will be vital for the club in future.
