Pirates boast a boatload of talent and experience within their squad this season, more particularly in central midfield, after bringing in nine new players during the recent transfer window.
Thus far, many have yet to get a thorough look-in as Sredojevic seeks to steady the ship amid a turbulent start to the 2018/19 campaign.
The likes of Linda Mntambo and reigning club player of the season Musa Nyatama have all been in and out of the team, while Kudakwashe Mahachi, Asavela Mbekile and Brilliant Khuzwayo are still waiting on the fringes.
The Serbian tactician, however, has stressed that current selection has not been based on players' names or reputations, while the CAF Champions League campaign is also set to present opportunities for other players.
“In our team we are having players that are all equal and everyone is chosen on merit, and whoever is not playing is pushing those that are playing,” said 'Micho'.
“The season is long, everyone will have a time and a place to play. We are not taking players purely on their good names and sentiments of the past, but the truth of their present and current competitive form.
“Musa Nyatama has come from a spell of injury and whatever, and he’s now coming back [into the team].
“With today’s [Saturday] performance he has knocked on the door and told us, ‘I am here, and I want to increase the competition in the department’. The same goes for the other departments.”
