Matlaba fires Polokwane warning

Pirates went down 1-0 to AC Leopards in the African Champions League on Saturday, a result which allowed Zamalek to move three points clear of Bucs at the top of Group A in CAF's premier club competition.

The Sea Robbers next face promoted City in the Premiership on Wednesday, having lost their only League game of the season 1-0 to AmaZulu last month.

“The league for us is still very young,” Matlaba told the Buccaneers' official website.

“We have played one game and this is the second game for us at home, so it is not in Pirates' culture to lose consecutive matches, and on Wednesday we will have to beat City.

“City is in this league for the first time so coming from a defeat from Congo, we have no other option but to go all out to win the match.

“We will respect them, but I just think they came to us at the wrong time. We have the obligation to win on Wednesday,” concluded the Bafana Bafana fullback.
