Pirates marched to the Q-3 crown by collecting 18 points from the eight-game segment, with Bidvest Wits (18 points) and Mamelodi Sundowns (15) coming in second and third respectively.
The Buccaneers had never previously picked up the quarterly accolade since its inception back in 2012, but coach Micho Sredojevic and his technical team have done a sterling job in refurbishing the ship.
Their impressive run also sees the club currently in second position – four points adrift of log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, on course for a massive improvement from their 11th-placed finish last season.
"The League congratulates Orlando Pirates for this achievement. The Club walks away with R1.5 million prize money," read a statement from the PSL.
Baroka and Sundowns have previously won the prize for Q-1 and Q-2 respectively this season.
