The PSL on Tuesday declared that Bucs must play two home matches behind closed doors - with one of these suspended for a 24-month period - as punishment for unruly fan behaviour during the club's 6-0 rout by Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld in February, 2017.

Pirates, who trail log leaders Downs by six points with three games left, later announced they will play their match with outgoing champions Bidvest Wits on April 25 behind closed doors.

Bucs released a statement on their website, which reads: 'The Absa Premiership match between Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits scheduled for Wednesday, 25 April, will now be played behind closed doors in terms of a sanction handed down by the Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee.

'Fans who have already bought tickets for this match will be advised in the near future as to how to get a refund.'
