The Bucs and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper was laid to rest in Durban on Saturday. Thousands of mourners packed the Moses Mabhida Stadium yesterday to pay their last respects to the fallen hero.

The stadium was brought to tears when images of Meyiwa were projected on the big screen constructed in the stadium.

"To my players, don’t despair. God shall provide,” said Khoza.

Other soccer stars including Itumeleng Khune, Simphiwe Tshabalala, Siboniso Gaxa, Andile Jali and Mark Mayambela were part of the gathering that bid farewell to Meyiwa in Durban.

Meanwhile the Premier of Kwa Zulu-Natal, Senzo Mchunu, announced at the funeral service that the province will establish a soccer academy named after Senzo Meyiwa.
