SuperSport United have officially confirmed the reappointment of Gavin Hunt as the club's new head coach.

As previously reported, Gavin Hunt has returned to his former stomping ground after being appointed as the new head coach of SuperSport United.

The 57-year-old has penned a two-year-old and arrives back in Pretoria following the club's sacking of Kaitano Tembo last season.

Andre Arendse, who had served as interim coach following Tembo's dismissal, is expected to return to his role as assistant manager.

"I am really excited and looking forward to the challenge ahead, especially to work with younger players at the club and build the team to ensure the club is successful and competitive in the PSL. I am looking forward to this challenge," Hunt said.

His appointment sees him return to the club where he previously spent six years between 2007 and 2013 and won three domestic league titles and the Nedbank Cup.

He was most recently on the books of Chippa United and had previous spells with Kaizer Chiefs and Bidvest Wits between his first and current stint with Matsatsantsa.
