No government funeral for Madisha

Late Mamelodi Sundowns defender Motjeka Madisha will not be given a Special Official Funeral.

Madisha is set to be laid to rest in Ga-Madisha in Zebediela on Saturday following his death in a car accident near Kempton back in December.

According to Madisha's brother Kgaugelo, the regular funeral arrangements for the former Bafana Bafana star will go on as planned.

"There has been no update [from the government]. The funeral will go on as planned by the family," Madisha tells KickOff.com.

Only a few Sundowns players are expected to attend the funeral due to the ongoing Covid-19 protocols.

"We would also like to urge our fans to adhere to the Covid-19 protocol as per government regulations that allow only 50 people to attend a funeral," says Sundowns official Yogesh Singh.

The Brazilians' players and technical team visited the Madisha family in Zebediela on Thursday to pay their respects to their fallen teammate.
