Makola: We'll win against Pirates today

Cape Town City midfielder Mpho Makola is certain they will get all three points against Orlando Pirates in today's DSTV Premiership encounter.

The match kicks off at 17h00 at Orlando Stadium, where Makola will face his former team once again.

In their last league encounter the Buccaneers were beaten 2-0 by Golden Arrows and they will be looking to bounce back against the Citizens, who are fresh from their 4-0 win over Bloemfontein Celtic in the Nedbank Cup.

Pirates were not so convincing in their 1-0 Nedbank Cup win over GladAfrica Championship side Uthongathi FC over the weekend.

"Ya anything is possible in football, we are just going to continue doing what we need to do in a game, and what we've been doing throughout the season," Makola tells

"So we are not undermining anyone, we will just go in there to put in the work, that's all."

Asked if he thought Pirates were underdogs going into this game, Makola laughs off the idea.

"[Laughs] I don't know if they are underdogs, you know football at the end of the day it's 11 vs 11, it's about who makes fewer mistakes and then who wants it more," he responds.

"I'm not going to answer that [laughs]. Who do you think is the underdog? It's different when you play cup games, and when we play league games. This time they are playing a premier league team, and they're going to come out a different team.

"It's going to be a different Pirates. As for us, we are always ready. This season we are always ready. All I can say is we're going to win. We are winning today."
