Morton grateful to Middendorp

Middendorp traded United for Bloemfontein Celtic last Friday, with ex-Celtic boss Clinton Larsen taking the German's place at the Team of Choice this week.

"I appreciate what he has done for my career and I want to say thank you for everything," Morton tells

The midfielder admits Middendorp's departure caught him off guard but he has a positive early impression of Larsen.

"I never saw it coming personally but as the same time it’s football. One knows it’s part of the game and these things tend happen," Morton says.

"But it’s been good since Larsen took over and I like the things he had to say. And with the sessions we have been taking so far, I like the direction that we are heading to."

Morton is likely to feature against SuperSport United in the League on Wednesday, having recovered from a hand injury sustained in a Telkom Knockout 2-0 defeat to Platinum Stars.

However, defender Ruben Cloete is only expected back in the last week of November after undergoing facial surgery.
