Chiefs and Swallows are already deep in negotiations over the transfer of Mokgothu – who Chiefs need for their left-back position. The injury-prone Tsepo Masilela, Jimmy Jambo, who is not completely recovered from a horrific injury that he picked up in 2012, and teenager Simphiwe Mtsweni are their current options there.
Mokgothu has been impressive playing at left-back since landing in the Birds Nest following a stint in the unfashionable Swaziland Premier League.
Swallows coach Zeca Marques has confirmed to KickOff.com that Mokgothu will possibly be moving to Naturena in a swap deal that will include two players coming into the Nest.
“It is a possibility … there is a 90 percent chance,” says Marques in reference to Mokgothu moving to Chiefs.
"However, we still have some options even if he happens to go," says Marques.
Chiefs is understood to have already offered a list of three players from which Swallows can choose to have two as part of the deal that will have Mokgothu trading alliances.
