Mbulu: We gave the game to Sundowns

Striker Richard Mbulu insists Baroka FC have themselves to blame for a 2-1 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

Despite their numerical advantage Baroka failed to capitalise on the opportunity to seal an upset win after Sundowns attacker Kermit Erasmus received a red card.

Mbulu scored his first goal of the season before Themba Zwane grabbed a ate winner for the Brazilians.

"I'm not happy with the result because of where we are on the log table," Mbulu tells Kickoff.com.

"We just lost concentration during those last few minutes. Sometimes when you are playing a team that is a man down, you feel like you have already beaten them which is what cost us.

"You just need to work hard because you know it won't come easy.

"Of course, luck is there but, we just gave away the game ourselves because you can't leave an opposition player walking freely with the ball inside the box.

"It's not like they won because of luck, but we just gave away the three points."

Mbulu went on to describe scoring his first goal of the season.

"After I dribbled past the defender, I saw that the goalkeeper had left a space at his near post as he must've thought I was going to put a cross in.

"I said to myself, let me put power behind my shot. I think now that I've opened my account more goals will come."
