Mashaba to oversee SA youth teams

A source at the footballing body said Mashaba’s duties will centre around giving guidance and direction to the national U-23, U-20 and U-17 sides.

Mashaba is well versed with South Africa’s development structures, and achieved success during his stints with the U-23 team, known affectionately as 'Amaglug-glug'.

"Mashaba has been appointed to spearhead the coaching structures of all the junior national teams," the source tells

"This means that all the coaches of these teams will now report directly to him. The idea behind the move is to ensure that the youth teams will be able to develop the same style.

"This will be critical, especially when some of the players graduate into the senior national team," adds the source.
