Maritzburg release foreign striker

KickOff.com has learnt that Maritzburg United are set to release striker Micah Lea'alafa from his contract.

Lea'alafa is set to follow midfielder Deolin Mekoa out the exit door at United. Mekoa has joined Ajax Cape Town on a six-month loan deal.

According to sources close to the Team of Choice, Lea'alafa has already been notified about the club's intention to release him and is set to receive his clearance soon.

"The club has reached a decision on Micah Lea'alafa. He has been released and is currently negotiating for a settlement," the source tells KickOff.com.

Meanwhile, Maritzburg are also engaged in negotiations with defender Siyanda Xulu in a bid to keep him next season. His contract expires in June.
