KickOff.com can reveal that Maritzburg United have agreed a deal in principle to bring in Serbian defender Dusan Stevic.
Maritzburg have been in the market for a right-back since Ernst Middendorp returned to the club with the German having used all of Nazeer Allie, Kwanda Mngonyama, Pagiso Sanoka, Malebogo Modise and Lungelo Bhengu in that position.
They have now settled for 25-year-old Stevic, who was most recently with FK Napredak Krusevac in the top Serbian league and has previously played in North Macedonia and Greece.
His last appearance for Napredak was at the end of November against Cukaricki.
Word reaching KickOff.com from the club is that his papers are already being processed.
In Serbia, Stevic is spoken of as being underrated utility player who can play right-back, centre-back and in midfield.
Maritzburg recently added German goalkeeper Marcel Engelhardt to their roster and still have one foreign space open after releasing Zambian goalkeeper Sebastian Mwange and Nathanael Bongo Mbourou from Gabon.
