Shandu takes aim at 'beatable' Pirates

Maritzburg United midfielder Bandile Shandu is positive they can add more woe to inconsistent Orlando Pirates if they stick to coach Ernst Middendorp's plan.

The Team of Choice have enjoyed some good results since the German tactician took over from Eric Tinkler, managing to do well against bigger teams.

But in their last match against TS Galaxy they were nowhere to be found as they lost 3-0, and Shandu admits it was a very disappointing result.

"Yeah it was a disappointing result, but what we can take from it are the mistakes we made and rectify them," Shandu said ahead of the clash at Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday (17h00).

"It's one thing we want to move on from but learn from the mistakes we made and prepare from it.

"It's just preparations, we have to stick to the instructions from the coach and when we face Pirates we will give our all. We work together and I think if we do that we can achieve something.

"It's very important because the league is tight and every point is important. It will be massive to pick up three points."

The Buccaneers are also facing their challenges and Shandu believes if his teammates show unity on the day, they can beat Josef Zinnbauer's side.

"They're a very good side, a team that has pace and experienced players, but they are beatable," he insisted.

"We just need to focus on us as a team and be united and if we do that we can come up with a good result."
