'Fileccia's movement is unbelievable'

Rusike, who has eight goals this season, switched allegiance last month having bagged 20 league goals in 67 starts in a two-and-a-half year spell with Maritzburg.

However, Davids is pleased with the efforts of Andrea Fileccia and the bustling Mohau Mokate upfront.

Fileccia has netted four times this campaign, while Mokate has struck thrice, as has Absa Premiership Player of the Month for January Siphesihle Ndlovu.

"Andrea Fileccia is unbelievable in his movement up front, really good," Davids told his club's website.

"He knows when to run, when to steal in behind the defence line.

"Mohau Mokate is a different type, a warrior. You can really count on him at any moment. So we have two really top quality strikers at our disposal."

The Team of Choice are riding high in the standings in fifth spot with 31 points from 21 games following a 2-0 win over derby rivals AmaZulu last time out.

Davids reckons nine points from their last nine matches should be enough to secure a top-eight finish and book a ticket to next term's MTN8 Cup.

"Yes, it's nine games to go and nine points, hopefully 40 points is enough this season. But perhaps with the teams so bunched you might need 43. I think we’re on track.

"We’re still a few points behind our target because of the eight-game run without a win, but since we beat Cape Town City we have really clicked. We kept to our style and our structure."

United next host bottom-placed Platinum Stars at Harry Gwala Stadium on Friday night.
