UCL: Man City, Atletico in quarters

Both games ended 0-0, and while City progressed after their 3-1 victory in the away leg against Dynamo Kiev, Atletico needed extra-time and penalties to seal their passage against PSV Eindhoven after a goalless first leg in the Netherlands.

The Vicente Calderon Stadium came to life during the shootout as the Atleti fans raised their voicers in support of their team, and the players kept their nerve through 15 spot-kicks.

PSV kicked first and scored every penalty-kick, as did Atletico as it went to 7-7 in a shootout of the highest quality before Luciano Narsingh rattled the crossbar for PSV.

Juanfran buried Atletico's eighth penalty to send his side through 8-7 on penalties after a 0-0 aggregate score.
