Sundowns trio could miss Wits clash

The midweek win over Platinum Stars came at a big cost for the Brazilians, who will host the Clever Boys at Loftus Versfeld this weekend without Ngcongca [groin], Laffor [ankle] and Billiat [dead leg], who all picked up knocks against Dikwena.

“It would be a blow if we were to miss all three players at the same time, especially [when] our schedule is this tight, but we can never use that as an excuse,” Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane told his club’s official website.

“As long as we have 11 players on the the field and seven substitutes, we have to fight on.”

Sundowns welcome Wits to Tshwane looking to cut into the Students' lead at the top of the table, with the Brazilians currently in fifth place and five points adrift.

However, Mosimane's side have three games in hand over Wits, making this weekend's match a potentially pivotal one in the Premiership title race.
