Pitso expects more from Maboe

The former Maritzburg United player bagged his second goal for Sundowns when the Brazilians edged Golden Arrows 1-0 at Princess Magogo Stadium on Wednesday, a much needed win for Mosimane’s side.

Mosimane is known for always demanding more from his players, as he wants to see them constantly improving. He always challenge Percy Tau, Bongani Zungu and Keagan Dolly to improve their game and now they are all playing in Europe. Maboe could head in the same direction if he lives up to the challenges Mosimane puts out for him.

Mosimane wants to see Maboe performing as well as he did for Maritzburg last season, when he was taking players on, creating opportunities and scoring goals.

“No, no, sometimes he losses the balls that I don't think he should lose,” said Jingles of Maboe.

“But you must also understand that he has not played at this level but he works hard hey. He responds, he's a good boy, he's a good player. I need more confidence on him, I need him to dribble a little bit, he's too conservative. He doesn't want to lose the ball.

“He can dribble, he was dribbling at Maritzburg, you know what I'm trying to say. He's here, he's worried a little bit of not making mistakes and I have to make him aware that he's got to dance on the ball sometimes. Mshishi [Themba Zwane] dances, Gaston [Sirino] dances.
