Tau netted as a substitute in the 3-1 win over Guinea-Bissau at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on the weekend.
The 22-year-old Sundowns star had less of an impact in the goalless stalemate with Angola last night, but was nevertheless named man of the match in his fourth international outing (including CHAN appearances) at Buffalo City Stadium.
"I think I still have to watch the games and try and get information and feedback from the coach. Also from my coach at the team. I also need to hear what he is thinking and what also the national coach thinks, which is Owen da Gama," said Tau, who today won the Absa Premiership Goal of the Month award for December.
"Mostly it was for me to know the guys better and try to enjoy the moment because I don't know if it's going to be my last. 'Lebo' [Manyama] from Cape Town City, Dean Furman from SuperSport, [Lorenzo] Gordinho from Kaizer Chiefs... so it was about me trying to know the guys better and trying to feel what they see about my current performance, and what they think I need to learn and develop.
"So there's still a lot of things I'm still going to say I've learnt from the national team, but for now I still have to go back and watch the games."
