Makhubedu: Chiefs wanted it more

Sekhukhune United head coach MacDonald Makhubedu admitted that opponents Kaizer Chiefs wanted it more as his side suffered a 2-0 defeat at FNB Stadium on Sunday.

Goals by Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Phathutshedzo Nange ensured that Chiefs reclaimed second position in the DStv Premiership standings.

Speaking after the final whistle, Makhubedu admitted that his side was second best in Sunday's defeat.

"I think we could've done better," Makhubedu said post-match.

"We could have done better as we played against a team that had two weeks off with us having played back-to-back games.

"Our energy levels seem to have been the same as our opponents for some reason and we could have done better with our chances.

"I think even our body language wasn't right from our players and I think Chiefs wanted it more than us."

Sekhukhune next host SuperSport United at Ellis Park Stadium in a DStv Premiership clash on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 18:00.
