Chiefs will return to training on Wednesday in preparation for their first game of 2018 against SuperSport United on January 6 at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Komphela's side are third on the Premiership table with 22 points from 15 games, having finished 2017 with their first back-to-back league wins since April at the expense of relegation-threatened Platinum Stars and Ajax Cape Town.
Chiefs defender Lorenzo Gordinho, who will spend time with his family in Benoni, wished the Khosi nation a happy and safe festive period.
"We will go to church and have a Christmas lunch. It’s a time to be together and reflect on the challenges of the past year and to put the difficulties we faced as a family behind us. We are blessed to all be together," Gordinho told the club's website regarding his plans.
He also urged people to "not drink and drive. There are so many alternative options to get home, including Uber and metered taxis."
He added: "I wish all our supporters a good festive season. Spend time with your family and please don’t forget the less fortunate. This is the time of the year to reach out to the less fortunate."
