1- We are underway!

Referee Nawaf Shukralla (Bahrain) will officiate proceedings.

The formalities have all but been concluded, as the teams settle in to formation.

Now it is the turn of the Spanish, who will be desperate to go out with a win following their dreadful run in Brazil.

The teams lead out on to the field at Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, with Australia to deliver their anthem first.

The contest is a dead rubber, as both countries have been eliminated from the tournament following successive defeats. Champions La Roja were ripped apart 5-1 by Netherlands before losing 2-0 to Chile, while the Socceroos were beaten 3-1 by the Chileans, and then 3-2 by the Dutch.

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has made seven team changes since their last outing, with goalkeeper Pepe Reina and strikers Fernando Torres and David Villa notably getting starts.

The Aussies are minus suspended talisman Tim Cahill, prompting the inclusion of Newcastle Jets forward Adam Taggart, while the injured Mark Bresciano is replaced by former Reading midfielder Oliver Bozanic.

The teams have been announced:

Australia: Ryan, Davidson, Spiranovic, Leckie, Taggart, Oar, Bozanic, Jedinak (c), McKay, McGowan, Wilkinson.

Spain: Reina, Albiol, Ramos (c), Koke, Alba, Iniesta, Alonso, Cazorla, Juanfran, Villa, Torres.
