Gomora United owner Joe Seanego says Lerato Chabangu will be retiring from football to take on a new role as the club's technical advisor.
Back in November, the 35-year-old former Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroka Swallows star appealed to Swallows FC to sign him after they were promoted to the top-flight last season.
But the high-flying DStv Premiership side showed no interest despite signing more than a dozen new players.
However, Chabangu has found continued employment despite arriving at the decision to hang up his playing boots.
"I want to include Lerato in the technical staff, I want him to be a technical advisor," Seanego tells KickOff.com.
"I liked his qualities, his qualities are going to help. He is going to add contribution. We should groom these boys early so that at the end of the day they know this is their team.
"He is retiring. Ian Palmer is our coach. We will organise for him an official retirement at the end of the season."
Gomora are captained by Khethokwakhe Masuku in the ABC Motsepe League.
In other news, Kyle Korte has joined GladAfrica Championship club Pretoria Callies and Moses Mojasi has moved to JDR Stars.
