Kaizer Chiefs striker Leonardo Castro has opened up on the combination being developed between Khama Billiat, Samir Nurkovic and himself.
Chiefs looks to have found a potent attacking trio up front, with coach Ernst Middendorp retaining Castro, Billiat and Nurkovic since their Telkom Knockout victory over Cape Town City a fortnight ago.
Though it is still a young combination, they have already caused damage to both Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates in the space of two weeks.
The Colombian has since provided insight into their working relationship thus far and explained what the coach’s instructions to them are.
“The instruction is clear for us to move into the spaces. Obviously, for us as strikers, we need to be calm when we have the ball at our feet and take the right decisions,” explained Castro.
“It’s the first time for me to play with Samir, and there’s a long way to go to get to know each other up front, so we’re working on the right things in training.
“With Khama, I know him for long; we know each other, and we can close our eyes and play together, so it’s easy to be playing with these two guys because they know to play.”
'CBN' are sure to be tested once again when they come up against Chippa United on Wednesday evening, before this weekend's Absa Premiership leg of the Soweto Derby.
