Lefa: Swallows don't have a choice

Many are impressed by Swallows FC in their debut top-flight season but Lefa Tsutsulupa offers a different perspective on their flying start.

The Dude Birds capped off an unbeaten start to the DStv Premiership by claiming the scalp of Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday night to claim the bragging rights in their first Soweto Derby.

But former captain Tsutsulupa is not getting carried away and says the current team doesn't have a choice but to compete in order to avoid another downfall.

Those associated with Swallows still remember that they were relegated in two consecutive seasons after falling from the top-flight the first time.

"Unfortunately they don't have a choice, if they don't compete they are going back to the NFD, it's simple as that," Tsutsulupa tells KickOff.com.

"I think the management has done well, they've got a clear vision on where they want the team to go, they have assembled a quality team mixed with young and senior players.

"They've started the season very well but the results and performances are not something we can analyse now. I think we can just give them about seven more games and hopefully they will keep getting points because it will help them."
