Nkhatha back, not Parker

Premiership

The Zimbabwean missed yesterday’s record-breaking 1-0 win against Ajax Cape Town due to illness, but should be ready to get going again when Chiefs host the Birds at FNB Stadium.

“Kingston has no fever anymore and is coming back this morning,” coach Stuart Baxter says. “He had a raging fever the other day. He has to be one day without a fever before he starts exercising.

“He will do a gentle turn over today and then we will see him tomorrow. If he is okay tomorrow then he will do a normal pre-match and then he will be available.”

In the meantime, Baxter is uncertain about Bernard Parker.

“Bernard is at the hospital getting a scan. We think it is heavy bone bruising, but we are not sure because it is so painful that we need to see a scan and see if there is any break.

With Nkhatha and Parker out, Chiefs were forced to start yesterday’s match in Cape Town without an established forward.
