Malope had a successful loan spell at now defunct Thanda Royal Zulu last season, where he was an inspiration for the club under Roger Sikhakhane as he helped AmaBhubesi win the National First Division title.
The 22-year-old, who was also farmed out on loan to Moroka Swallows in the 2015/16 NFD season, was part of the Chiefs team in the recent Bokone Bophirima Maize Cup, providing an assist in the final, and is said to still have a future in Soweto.
“It looks like Chiefs want to go back to what chairman Dr Kaizer Motaung believes in: promoting young stars from the development, where the likes of Jabu Mahlangu, Junior Khanye, Itumeleng Khune and many more [came from],” Malope's agent, Thabo Moloto, tells KickOff.com.
“Malope is one of the promising young stars from Chiefs' development who had a good loan season at Thanda Royal Zulu by helping them gain PSL promotion and scored a few goals and created many [more].”
As revealed by this website, Chiefs have already loaned out young striker Itumeleng Shopane - who was also part of that Maize Cup triumph - to newly formed Richards Bay FC ahead of this coming NFD season.
