The past 10 days saw international football take centre stage during the first FIFA recess of the 2018/19 season, providing domestic teams the opportunity to fine-tune their game model.
Still in search of their first Absa Premiership win of the season, Amakhosi face a stern test away to a Cape Town City side high on confidence after recently qualifying for their second successive MTN8 final.
While the likes of Itumeleng Khune, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Khama Billiat, Teenage Hadebe, Virgil Vries and Godfrey Walusimbi were all on international duty, Ntshangase says the rest of the team made full use of the 'break'.
"We are looking forward to the game [against City]. We worked a lot on our shape, where to be on the pitch at what time in relation to the ball and our opponent," 'Stash' told his club's website.
“They [international contingent] will have gained a lot of experience from playing for their respective national teams, and that will help us in our game on Saturday.”
Coach Giovanni Solinas could be tempted to hand debuts to new signings Andriamirado Andrianarimanana and Lebogang Manyama, both of whom Ntshangase believes could strengthen the team.
“'Dax' [Andrianarimanana] and Lebo are very good players and their availability will have a positive impact on the team," he added.
The 25-year-old playmaker, meanwhile, has had a positive turnaround under Solinas, having started all eight matches this season while notching up two assists.
However, the former Black Leopards star does not feel entirely satisfied with his individual contribution thus far.
“I didn’t get many opportunities to play last season. I am happy to get game-time this season, although I am not as yet entirely happy with my performances so far. I need to get better and I am working hard at training to do that.”
Ntshangase is confident they will be well received at the Cape Town Stadium tomorrow, with Chiefs supporters expected to make it feel like a 'home' game.
“Playing in Cape Town feels like playing at home. Our supporters always come out in numbers to support us in the Mother City," he concluded.
Kick-off is set for 15h00.
