Paez made waves on Sunday after television footage emerged, suggesting he was irked by being hauled off during Chiefs' Macufe Cup clash.
With Amakhosi 1-0 up against Bloemfontein Celtic at the Free State Stadium for the annual friendly spectacle, Solinas opted to swop the Venezuelan out for Bernard Parker in the 65th minute.
@KaizerChiefs @MarawaRobert @SuperSportTV. Are there tensions between Gustavo Paez and coach Solinas? In this video, the coach attempts to extend his hand to Paez on two occasions and Paez flatly ignores him. #MacufeCup2018 #MacufeCup pic.twitter.com/Tk0KyNmS9Y— Sindiso Malaku (@Sindisom) October 14, 2018
Having made just three starts in his side's 13 outings this season, it was thought that the 28-year-old, who has one goal to his name thus far, had fallen out with the Italian tactician over his reduced amount of playing time.
However, the club have since issued a statement in which Paez has apologised and explained the "unfortunate" incident.
"There was no bad intent on my part as I have a great relationship with the coach. It was a case of misunderstanding," Paez told his club's website.
"I admit that it looked bad and for that reason I apologise sincerely to the chairman [Kaizer Motaung], the club, my teammates, sponsors, supporters and all the stakeholders for this unfortunate incident.”
