Maluleka - who suffered an injury blow on the weekend - was enjoying his richest vein of form since arriving from SuperSport United in January.
In the current season, Maluleka started seven Absa Premiership matches, and all four of Amakhosi’s MTN8 games including the final. He also finished as the top goalscorer in the Cup with three goals.
“Honestly, the snub is hyping me up, it’s motiving me and I’m working my socks off every day to get back into the setup and I’m really happy for the guys,” Maluleka told KickOff.com prior to being ruled out for three weeks with an adductor muscle strain.
“They are doing extremely well and I’m proud of them”
To his advantage, the 25-year-old is no stranger to international football, having been capped with Bafana, Amajita (U-20) and Amajimbos (U-17). He also received call-ups to the national U-23 side for the CAF U-23 Championships in 2011.
