Baloyi delighted with Birds move

Baloyi and Philani Cele have been loaned to Swallows as part of the deal that saw Levy Mokgothu move to Naturena. Chiefs showed faith in Baloyi by extending his contract to June 2016 a few months ago, but he has now been sent out for much-needed game time.

Amakhosi’s Most Improved Player of the 2011/2012 season feels this is exactly what his career needs right now.

“It is a good move,” Baloyi tells

“I want to thank Kaizer Chiefs for giving me the opportunity to play for Moroka Swallows. Swallows are good to me and it feels the same as at Chiefs,” he says.

“The only thing now is that I’m under pressure to play and do well. No-one is putting pressure on me, but it is just that I  come from Chiefs where I was not playing and the kind of pressure I feel is that I must play.

“I’m going to give it my all at Swallows and Ni tshembha [I believe] that things will go well for me. Ni ti yimiserile [I’m ready],” he adds.

Since making his debut for Chiefs in 2010/11, Baloyi has gone on to make 32 starts and 14 substitute appearances in all competitions in the past four seasons.
