De Bruyne and company will tonight battle Japan for a place in the quarter-finals of the FIFA showpiece, having thumped Tunisia and Panama, and defeated England in the group stages of the event.
Asked who will win the tournament, Ekstein told Chiefs' website: "Belgium. They have won all their games so far and I enjoy watching them play.
"I am a fan of Kevin de Bruyne – the way he passes the ball and organises the midfield.
"My teammates know how much I like him and, as a result, they even call me De Bruyne at training."
The Amakhosi man is also impressed with the performance of Red Devils winger Adnan Januzaj, who netted the winner against the Three Lions and currently plays his club football for Spanish side Real Sociedad.
"Belgium’s Januzaj surprised me. I like his movement, his passing and his runs. I was impressed with his performance against England, scoring the winner as well."
Brazil, Mexico, Sweden, Switzerland, Colombia and England are also vying to go through to the last-eight of the competition, where Uruguay will meet France and Russia will host Croatia.
